Polyvance Plastic Welding Training Held at Mooresville, NC Location

Autotality recently hosted a hands-on training session at our Mooresville, NC location, focused on the use and repair capabilities of Polyvance nitrogen and airless plastic welders, one of the many solutions available in our collision repair equipment lineup. The session gave attendees an in-depth introduction to plastic repair techniques and allowed them to get real-world experience using the PR-01 nitrogen plastic welding system.

Practical, Real-World Training

Led by a certified instructor, the training covered a wide range of essential skills, including:

  • Identifying different plastic types commonly found in automotive components
  • Prepping bumper covers for welding
  • Performing various repairs such as torn flanges, slot tabs, and bumper edge tears
  • Conducting plastic identification through weld testing
  • Using an airless welder to repair thermoset polyurethane (PUR) bumpers

This hands-on course not only equipped technicians with the knowledge to confidently handle plastic repairs with their Polyvance rubber and plastic welders, but also highlighted the economic benefits, reduced cycle times, lower repair costs, and higher shop profitability.

I-CAR® Industry Training Alliance® Approved

As an I-CAR® Industry Training Alliance® course, attendees who successfully complete the training receive three I-CAR® annual training credits. To qualify, students had to complete a pre-test, post-test, and all hands-on activities, ensuring true skill development, not just a certificate.

Invest in Your Team and Your Tools

For body shops considering the purchase of a Polyvance welder, this training demonstrates the real-world value of investing in modern plastic repair tools. The nitrogen plastic welding process enables strong, durable repairs on parts that were once thought to be throwaways, like headlight tabs, flanges, and bumper covers.
